1. Install these apps

    • Actions
    • Toolbox Pro
      • I am pretty sure you do not need the paid version, although I do have it so my apologies if it is needed.
      • Create the following Global Variables
        • Running
        • StartTime
        • Inactivity
        • PlaybackTime
        • CurrentSong
  2. Create a Focus (Settings -> Focus) titled “a”

  3. Time for the actual Shortcuts! Make sure for all that in Details -> Privacy you turn on “Allow Running When Locked”, and when any of them ask for permissions choose “Always Allow”.

  4. There are also some Automations involved. These should also be set to “Allow Running When Locked”, as well as “Run Immediately” and “Don’t Notify When Run”. Not all of these may appear, it depends on your iOS version and I updated mine in the middle of writing this. Additionally, you can now share Automations so I’m doing that as well as detailing them in case that doesn’t work on previous iOS versions.

    • When “Music” is opened
      • Run Shortcut “iTunes Wrapped Startup 2.0”
    • When any alarm goes off
      • Run Shortcut “Error Fixing 2.0”
    • When turning a on
      • Set focus -> Turn a off
      • Run Shortcut -> iTunes Wrapped Startup 2.0
    • When turning Do Not Disturb on
      • Global variables -> Set Inactivity to 1
        This last one is optional/editable to a different focus or input. The entire shortcut is supposed to turn off automatically after inactivity, but that can sometimes take a while due to it breaking and the error fixing restarting it. This automation triggers the shortcut to stop, although it’s still a bit finicky and sometimes requires toggling the focus multiple times. To make sure the shortcut is off, open Mission Control (swipe down from the top right) and see if an alarm icon is there on the top. If it is, the shortcut is still on.
  5. This shortcut loves to break randomly and I don’t really know why, I’d love if someone improved it lol. But the way I figure out if it broke without constantly checking on it is with alarms. The shortcut is constantly creating and deleting alarms, so that if it randomly stops the alarm will go off and trigger an automation to restart everything.

To make the alarm not super annoying, open the Alarm app and start making a new alarm. Set the sound to “None”. Alarms save whatever you last put here even if you then cancel making a new alarm. So even if you use alarms normally, as long as this is set to none before listening to music the shortcut alarm won’t make sound. Alternatively, ignore this and let it make sound if you don’t care.

When the alarm does go off, I usually just let it go until it sorts itself out. You can snooze or stop it early, although you may be able to do this too early and break things? I’m unsure tbh. Also, the shortcut sometimes may ask you for which alarm to delete, you can do literally anything here and it will figure itself out idk what’s up with that.
